Care Requirements

• Tank size: Minimum 200L — Malawis are active and territorial
• Water temperature: 24–28°C (tropical)
• pH: 7.5–8.5 (hard, alkaline water essential)
• Filtration: Strong biological filtration with good water movement
• Diet: Omnivore to herbivore — high-quality cichlid pellets, spirulina flakes
• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-only or African cichlid community tank — can be aggressive
• Décor: Plenty of rocks and caves for territory and hiding
• Difficulty: Intermediate
