Oscars are one of the most popular and personable large cichlids in the hobby. Known for their bold personalities, intelligence, and ability to recognise their owners, Oscars are often described as the "dogs of the fish world". With a wide range of stunning colour morphs available, there's an Oscar for every tank.

Care Requirements

• Tank size: Minimum 300L for one adult — Oscars grow to 30cm+
• Water temperature: 23–27°C (tropical)
• pH: 6.0–8.0 (adaptable)
• Filtration: Heavy biological filtration — Oscars are messy eaters
• Diet: Carnivore — large pellets, prawns, earthworms, feeder fish
• Compatibility: Keep with similarly sized robust fish — will eat smaller tank mates
• Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate — hardy but require a large, well-maintained tank
